What are wedding photo invitations?

INVITATIONS

Of the several innovative wedding invitation ideas, the most romantic is that of picture wedding invitations. Most couples strive to make their wedding invitations unique, memorable and personal and the best way to customize a card is by using a photograph of the couple on it. There are numerous options available in the category.

Designing your wedding photo invitations

To begin with, you can choose just about any picture that is reminiscent of a special moment that you spent with each other or which depicts the love that you feel or even the strong bonds of relationship that you share with each other. You can use a picture that was taken indoors or you could have a photograph clicked at your favorite location; the beach, or even the restaurant where you had your first date.

Think about the type of photographs that you would like to use, while some couples go for colored pictures, others prefer the timeless appeal of black and white photographs.

If you feel that one picture is not enough to narrate your love story to the world, you could go for three strategically places photographs or even a collage.

You also get a plethora of options to choose from in terms of the color of the invitation cards, the paper used, the font style, font color and of course the message that you would like to have on the picture wedding invitations. Cards are available in solid block colors such as pink, violet, jade green, sky blue, peach and lilac, daffodil yellow and many more. You can also choose to spruce things up by using a contrasting color band running through the length of the invitation.

Alternatively, there are also several lovely designs that you can opt for; from lovely floral motifs to classic geometric patters and much more.

With so many options in hand, it should not be difficult to design a card that will be instilled in the memories of your guests for years after the actual event.

Why should you choose wedding photo invitations?

Lots of choices: One of the primary reasons for choosing photograph wedding invitations is that you will never want for options and you can get really creative with these cards. Classic yet inexpensive: Photograph wedding invitations are not only classic but also considerably inexpensive when pitched against some other over the top choices available in the market Personalize: Anybody can copy the design of an invitation but your photograph wedding invitations will be exclusive because of the special memory in the form of a photograph that adorns it.

Glow Sticks Invitations are Easy!

Those having glow sticks parties can do well to match their glow in the dark theme with other accents for guests. You can give glow sticks products as party favors, use glow sticks decorations and put up black lights to help set off the phosphorescent glow and even hand out themed invitations that glow in the dark.

invitations for baptism

It's easy to make glow in the dark invitations. You can accent them with glow stickers, ink and paint. Or you can make neon and black invitations that will glow under a black light. Glow in the dark products work because they contain phosphors that are charged up by exposure to a light source causing them to give off light particles or photons in the dark. The newest kind of phosphor being used today is Strontium Aluminate. It will usually be mixed into a plastic and molded into all kinds of toys, watches and even acrylic paints.

INVITATIONS

You can find glow in the dark paint made with this new longer lasting phosphor online or in many stores that can be used to create the writing on your invitations. One fun trick is to buy glow in the dark paint that is invisible or clear in the light and use it on your invitations. You'll have to make up your invitations in the darkness though so that you can see what you are writing.

Use blank white paper to set off the glow of your writing in the dark. You'll have to write in regular ink on the front of your invitation a clue of some sort for guests to decode the mystery of their blank invitations. A message like, "You'll find that I glow with news for you" might work well.

The receivers of your glow in the dark invitations may need to hold the invitations under a light for a few minutes in order to charge up the phosphors in the paint for a good strong glow.

Delicious Thanksgiving Traditions!

Thanksgiving traditions vary from place to place, and state to state. Although there are many different takes on a proper Thanksgiving, one thing is for sure and that is they are near and dear to the heart of many people. Thanksgiving traditions range from sacred to silly, and how you choose to make the day is up to you!

candyland costumes for adults

For many people Thanksgiving is about giving thanks - as it should be! In my family we take about 30 minutes of time at Thanksgiving to say what we are truly thankful for. Before the turkey is carved and the mashed potatoes are dipped in to, we tell our loved ones how important they are to each of us. For me, this is the most important part of Thanksgiving. I look forward to saying the things that I sadly take for granted most of the year.

CANDYLAND

Another popular Thanksgiving tradition for many people is the act of volunteering. This is truly a tradition that gives back to the community and those less fortunate. Taking canned food donations to the local shelter, volunteering for meals on wheels or serving food in a homeless shelter are just a few ways people donate their time and money on Thanksgiving. Another great place to volunteer is the local pet shelter or SPCA. Pets need love to! In my opinion volunteering is the ultimate and most loving Thanksgiving tradition.

A silly Thanksgiving tradition may be that the men in the family gather around the living room and watch football. Nothing like a game of the old pig-skin being tossed around to get the men in the mood for turkey day. It may also mean a day of Candyland, Scrabble or Monopoly with the kids. This is the perfect holiday for the Aunts and Uncles to entertain the children for once! It may mean piggy out on a big meal and then taking a big nap!

And speaking of piggy out, then there was the food. This is of course, of the most delicious Thanksgiving traditions. Roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, sausage stuffing and cranberry sauce to name just a few. For some it wouldn't be a proper holiday without a nice slice of homemade pumpkin pie and whipped topping. For others the meaning of the day may be Grandma's butter rolls.

No matter what Thanksgiving tradition you have made for you and your family it is sure to be a special one.

Delicious Thanksgiving Traditions!

What Family Fun Board Games Are There?

CANDYLAND

You might not know it, but the best place to go for games of any kind is actually online. There just aren't a lot of quality toy stores like there used to be, and if you are looking for the widest variety of board games, card games, dice games, or any other kind of standard game, then you should look online.

The most common type of board game is one that involves some level of chance, such as Life or Sorry. This makes it easy for all family members to play against the other and also prevents someone from always ruling the board. Children (of a certain age) can usually win as often as the adults do.

Where Can You Buy Family Fun Board Games?

The best place to buy family fun board games is actually online where you will be amazed at the variety of them available. You will find the old favorites like Monopoly, Chutes and Ladders, Candyland, Stratego and others, but you will also find variations that you didn't even know existed. For instance, there are dozens of different types of Monopoly that you can play, each with an individual theme. There is a Monopoly that takes place in San Francisco, one that has only Disney characters, etc.

How Should You Choose Your Games?

When you are choosing family fun board games, it is good to choose a variety of games that include luck and those that are more than luck. Games of chance are great for children since it puts them on an even footing with the adults who may be playing the game. On the other hand, if you want to teach your children valuable skills such as math or spelling, then you might want to try games that are a little trickier like Monopoly or Yahtzee. Scrabble is also a very fun way to teach your children how to spell and also to increase their vocabulary.

How Can You Get Your Family to Play?

When you mention board games, your family may not be too excited, so one fun way to get everyone involved is to designate one night a week "board game night." Make it a night when there is nothing good on television, and you shouldn't have a problem getting everyone involved. Having an evening that you all spend together will give you time to catch up on the week's events and also enable you to enjoy life as a family in a way that you just can't if you are sitting in front of the television.

Wedding Invitations Tips

A wedding is a union of two individuals promising to live through all happiness and sorrows. Every year thousands of couples decide to get married. Most of them are obsessed with making their wedding a unique but very personal affair and end up being in a tight spot. The very initial glimpse of a wedding is conveyed to all through the wedding invitation. Designing a wedding invitation is one of the most vital works in a wedding plan. Here are a few ideas to help.

invitations

As regards to designing wedding invitations, one can go wild to any extent. While planning a wedding invitation, one should be thoughtful about the outline and style of the invitation as it reflects the couple's personal style. Now, more than anything, the couple is concerned with the small detailing throughout their wedding.

INVITATIONS

To design a wedding invitation, one has to consider color, texture, form, themes, and appearance. These days, a range of alternatives are available in the market. Traditional cards are totally given away and modern couples prefer options reflecting current seasons, personal hobbies, and specific color combinations.

Invitations can be contemporary in approach or might even be further personalized by adding photographs of tender moments with thoughtful quotations. Then, on detailing for the invitation, one has to choose complimenting font, style, and color. It must be kept in mind that it should be legible to the entire guest list. Choices for both are available in the market easily.

Many times, the company who is making your invitation gives you an enormous range of verse, quotations, printing style, and fonts. The bride should always look for the best and most personal invitation.

While addressing your guests, one must always prefer being very personal as all the invitees are loved ones and one should always be careful not to miss anyone. If the wedding invitation is to be sent to people with a family, it should be made clear by either mentioning individual names or adding "with family" to the label.

If children are not invited, then a sorry note or something similar to it should be mentioned to inform that children are not invited. In most circumstances, children are most welcome and by their youthful spirit add charm and excitement to the wedding ceremony and reception. In the case where one has to invite a person who is single, it is normal to add that guests are welcomed.

Specific wedding invitations are made for everyone. When one just wants to invite an individual to the reception alone and not the ceremony, like a distant relative or business colleague, one should graciously and respectfully mention this somewhere in the invitation.

Finally, one should be forewarned that few invitees, even after accepting the invitation, do not make it to the wedding. So, for deciding the menu and budget for the wedding, one should always keep this in mind.

The most important thing is to double or triple check the invitations before sending them to print. Thus, get them done as quickly as possible because they are the initial act to start the celebration!

Feel free to bring your own choice of liquid refreshments.

Notice that these invitations don't have any type of RSVP details because something that formal is also not needed. You want guests to be able to drop in as they want. Also, if you don't want any children at the event, you may want to add an "adults only, please" message.

Do you have any open house party ideas?

One thing you should consider before mailing the open house party is the refreshments. You definitely want to keep the food menu simple because your guests need to be able to easily access the food. As the host, you also don't want to serve anything that might make your job more time-consuming than necessary. Chips, popcorn, meat trays, relish trays, cupcakes, cookies, and even pizza are all excellent choices you might choose. Don't forget to mention whether or not guests can drink alcohol on the premises in the open house party.

Baptism Invitations - The Significance of Baptism Invitations

Baptisms are monumental events for children because it's their first religious experience, even if they're not conscious of it. Preachers, pastors, and ministers invest considerable time, energy, resources, and teaching into the importance and practice of baptism - both for infants and adults. An infant baptism is separate and distinct from a believer's baptism. In the latter case, more friends and family are invited because Christians believe this is the time when salvation occurs.

invitations in a box

Baptism invitations for the latter group of adults, adolescents, teenagers, and young children that have gone through their toddler stage are often very formal, striking, and memorable. Images of guardian angels, gifts, or the Cross itself are included. This event is considered by the person, the initiate, to be a spiritual stepping stone, a milestone into a higher spiritual life, or a time when the whole family can come together and give thanks to God for inviting a new person into his family. It's almost always necessary to send out baptism invitations for adult baptisms because the event is so significant to the Christian. Invitations for the smaller group, actually the former group, excuse the joke, are just simple, clear, fun, and direct. They needn't be somber, serious, or evocative of any evolutionary period in the child's moral or spiritual life.

INVITATIONS

Baptism invitations, like birth announcements, proclaim the child's entrance into the spiritual family of all Christians. Catholics believe that is necessary for salvation, but the real truth is that the denomination is split on that contentious point. The invitations are like birth announcements in that the former showcases a spiritual life beginning and the latter showcases a natural life beginning. Both serve the purpose of announcing to friends and family the wonders of your new family member.

Baby baptism invitations are often light blue, light pink, or light yellow. Pastels are serene. Sometimes, gleaming white crosses fill the card too. Illustrations of naïve art, that is art that is designed with children in mind, is often present. There is just no substitute for a good watercolor illustration on a baby's invitation. Without art, the invitation would look drab and people may not want to show up. That's one advantage of getting a pre-made designer card for pretty cheap. Handmade ones often feature a photograph of the beautiful baby boy or girl, and all the relatives simply adore the personal touch of a cute family photo.

Now that you know the basics, it's up to you to start sending them out!

Addressing Wedding Invitations

The process of addressing wedding invitations should be a deliberate process. It should involve careful planning. There is no point to addressing invitations, if the information in the address is not correct.

invitations wedding

In July of 2006, I was asked to address the invitations for my son's wedding. For one small group of addresses, I supplied the address information. I had obtained that information from a corresponding secretary. My husband and I belonged to the Faith group with that same secretary. I was confident of the accuracy in my information.

INVITATIONS

I had no way to judge the accuracy of the information that my husband gave me. Some of the invitations were supposed to go to friends of his mother. I had to address those wedding invitations. Sometimes his mother failed to include a zip code in the address that she gave us. Then I would need to ask my husband to call her and to see if she knew the zip code.

Addressing wedding invitations can take a lot of time. I think I spent some of my time fruitlessly, because I did not always get accurate information. Once when my husband called his mother about a zip code, she did not know what it was. My husband was in a hurry to mail out the invitations. He had me use a zip code that he thought was right. I do not know if that guest received his or her wedding invitation.

Another time my husband asked me to address an invitation to a friend who had moved to Las Vegas. I made an envelope with the requested address. That guest did not come to the wedding. I learned later that he had not been home during the time when we sent the invitation.

Addressing wedding invitations, even if done with the most accurate information, can not always guarantee that the intended recipient will get the invitation. The expected guest might be out of town at the time when the invitation arrives. If a guest learns too late about a wedding, he or she is apt to decline the invitation.

For me, addressing wedding invitations was an act of love. I like to write and be a bit creative. I do not like struggling to perfect the style of an address when I am not sure if the address information is correct. Still, I would be more than willing to address invitations for my second son's wedding.

Baptism Invitations - From Baptism to Baptism Invitations - The Facts

Baptism invitations, do we need them? Many parents ask that simple question after leaving a church service. Their newborn is beautiful, angelic, and so innocent; the baptism is already scheduled to occur 2 weeks from now, and no invitations have been sent out. The parents could also be wondering about the significance of the baptism, and whether or not they should even make a fuss about inviting close friends and relatives. If you can relate to these fictitious parents, then you need to read on.

invitations for baby shower

If you've already established church membership, then most of you will have a lot of friends at the church already. The majority of infant baptisms are held at the church because it's easier to have the event during a normal Sunday service. In that case, it's perfectly all right for your friends and family that don't regularly go to church to stop in and be present for the infant baptism. The only requirement, really, is that the parents are members of the church, or, at the least, have established an appointment to perform a baptism with the pastor, preacher, or minister during Sunday services. Don't feel like you're disturbing or disrupting services because most everyone likes to see a beautiful newborn introduced to their church. Many congregations are like extended families and if you're planning on having an ongoing relationship with the church members, a Sunday morning church service is the best time to baptize your child. No one will mind - in fact, they'll appreciate the break.

INVITATIONS

Infant baptism invitations are absolutely crucial if you haven't gone to church in ages or you want to host it at some other time than when church is going on. You might want to host it at the church late at night and bring lots of food for a banquet of sorts. That way, you can devote more time to getting to know the church and honoring your child.

Before sending out baptism invitations, you need to confirm a time for the baptism. If you convince your pastor that you really want your child baptized because you want to see this as the first step in his spiritual journey, you will find an enthusiastic pastor to host the baptism. If you're not committed, he could be concerned about your motives. Perhaps it's just for show or going through motions. Either way, work out a good relationship with your pastor so that the event will be a good, psychologically sound time for all.

Then, you can feel comfortable sending out baptism invitations.

Some Quality Family Board Game Ideas

Spending quality time as a family is really important and so going out with the family can be a great way of spending time together, however going out can be expensive. So in today's financially aware society the option to stay in and play a board game is one which is been taken up more and more.

candyland costume

The remainder of this article attempts to put together a list of quality family board games which the entire family can enjoy.

CANDYLAND

Cluedo - The Cluedo game, or Clue as it's also known, is a family favourite board game which relies on the players to use a combination of logic and luck. The players will take it in turns to try and find out who has been murdered in the mansion, who committed the crime, with what weapon the murder was conducted and where in the mansion the murder happened. The entire game is a game of murder mystery and for those people who enjoy using logical thinking to solve a problem then the Clue board game is perfect for that.

Balderdash - Balderdash is a game which won't require players to use a large vocabulary of words and even though it's a great game which is good for the whole family it doesn't actually require that many players, in fact it can be played with just two.

Boggle - Boggle is a game which the whole family can join in to, it's fast paced and exciting in comparison to many other games of it's kind. The game plays out against a sand timer and requires each player to try and create and find valid words in a 4x4 gird, the players score based on the length of word they find. Obviously the longer the word, the higher the score.

Candyland - The game of Candyland is really designed for young kids, usually as young as 3 years old. The good thing about that though is that if you're family does have young kids in it then no one is going to be excluded from playing the game based on age. The game doesn't really require any skill and is based around Candyland, a fictional land which is colorful and full of life. It's the aim of each player to try and search out the king of Candyland.

All of the above games are great family games, each one has it's own age range recommended by the retailer. All in all though those mentioned above are great classic games to involve the entire family on a stormy and cold night in.

80th Birthday Invitations - Keeping The Spirit Alive

Birthdays are really special events in the lives of humans. Whether one is turning 8, 18, or 80, the magic of birthdays still doesn't die. Admittedly, the magic changes, but it doesn't die. The excitement of an 8-year-old kid on his or her birthday is not the same with the excitement of an 80 year old man or woman. However, it cannot be denied that no matter what age a person may be in, there are still feelings of excitement and joy bubbling up deep inside.

invitations wedding

The family, friends and relatives of 80th birthday celebrants are usually the ones who take the initiative to organize the birthday celebrations and it usually begins with the invitations.

INVITATIONS

Making It Extra Special

Making 80th birthday invitations can be made by using a program or a software in the computer or by making it with bare hands. If the expected guests to be invited are more than 50, it is highly advisable that the invitations should be printed and not hand-made or else it will cost them a lot of time and effort to make a bunch of hand-made invitations.

It is only advisable to make hand-made invitations if the guests to be invited are just a bit few, or if the man power is enough to guarantee that the invitations will be finished on time.

80th birthday invitations does not necessarily need a lot of artwork such as pictures and drawings. Usually, birthday invitations for 80th birthday parties are just simple and elegant. By simple and elegant, it does not mean that the invitations are plain and dull-looking. Simple and elegant birthday invitations includes special papers and charming wordings.

When making 80th birthday invitations, try to look for papers that are not just plain and flat. Try to purchase papers that are rich in texture so that the invitations will look more special. You can also opt to buy papers that are scented, printed with elegant designs or embossed or embedded with little charming borders. Visiting the local art shop can be your best bet in looking for the perfect paper for your invitations.

The Package

Usually, birthday invitations are just folded and sealed with a sticker or plain adhesive. However, you can also try a different approach in sealing the invitations to give it more spice. You can opt to roll it and tie it with a ribbon or bow (like a diploma) or you can put it in a specially-designed envelope to make it more charming.

You could serve root beer floats, mini hamburgers, and a huge assortment of candies and desserts. Or maybe your hosting a Tailgate Christmas Party for your adult friends or co-workers where everyone wears t-shirts or jerseys to represent their favorite team. Math Games For Teachers

There are lots of great math games for teachers to liven up their math classes and not to mention, develop interest for math in students! Since everyone enjoys playing games, learning math becomes more user friendly and for those who fear it, a lot less frightening!

candyland party supplies

Students enjoy the immediacy of knowing that they got a right answer during the game. Likewise, parents can be encouraged to play games with their children at home and share in the math learning process after they are given the necessary instructions from the student or teacher

CANDYLAND

Math games are a valuable aid to teachers in the classroom to:

introduce new skills drill new and old skills review already learned skills evaluate students' understanding of fundamental math concepts

They can supplement the regular instruction time or be used independently by students at learning centers or in small groups.

Many common games can be adjusted to complement a math curriculum. A few of these include: Bingo, Dominoes, Concentration or Matching, Jeopardy, and Tic-Tac-Toe. Also, consider popular board games like Candyland, Monopoly or Monopoly, Jr. as math games for teachers to help students gain a better understanding and retention of math skills.

A math game that can be used in the classroom to teach patterns is one where students have to duplicate the math patterns represented on the board. The teacher or leader uses different colored magnetic tiles to demonstrate a pattern. Students use tiles, beads or counting bears at their desks to mimic the teacher's pattern. Solicit volunteers to come up to the board and create patterns to continue the game.

Another fun game which can be used to practice money skills in the classroom is the Shopping Game. Begin by creating a mock store in the class with actual items or pictures taken from magazines of favorite things. Assign a price to each item and have volunteers come to "shop" in the store and purchase a few things. Have students work in groups to estimate the cost of the purchase and then find the actual price of items. For more advanced students, you could require them to calculate the tax as well.

Let's say you wanted to teach a group of students how to subtract numbers without regrouping. You could introduce the abstract concept of subtraction by playing a game where the students could concretely see that you start with a larger number and take away a smaller number to finally arrive at your answer. After the students are capable of subtracting, you could use games instead of flashcards to drill and review these facts. Finally, you could utilize games to assess their overall speed and ability to complete subtraction problems prior to moving on to the multiplication lesson.

Because of the fun and lively cooperation (or friendly competition) that occurs during play, students will often ask to play games. They are a legitimate alternative to the customary worksheets and rote memorization of facts that have long been in use by the teacher. They can lead into or follow many math lessons just as you would use other learning aids or manipulatives. Also, students can be encouraged to share these games with their families and encourage parental involvement. So, use these games and others like them to motivate your students and allow them to enjoy math in your classroom.

How Do You "Go to the High Place in Your Mind?"

Many years ago, a song came on the radio as I was driving down the  freeway: "Go to the High Place in Your Mind./ You never know what you will find there!" I loved it, and I wished I had heard who the artist was. I never heard it again, but I've thought about it for years. Most of us are always searching for that High Place - through meditation, drugs, or relationships. Everyone wants to know it because it's the panacea for all the difficulties of life.

candyland party decorations

So - what is the High Place in Your Mind? It's a higher reality, a state beyond the ordinary everyday way to see things. It's a place to take a rest from all the challenges, a place to feel lifted up. Just imagine what that High Place is for you. Is it:

CANDYLAND

o A fuzzy feel-good universe?

o An inner world populated by gurus, angels, masters, and spirits.?

o A Candyland fantasy world?

o Strawberry Fields forever with Lucy in the Sky on a Magical Mystery Tour?

o A state of total peace?

o A world of only love?

o A place of beautiful light?

What's the High Place in Your Mind actually like? Is it a projection of your consciousness, or is it a place that exists in and of itself? Maybe you can answer that. What I know is that it's the superconscious state that is beyond the everyday conscious mind and the subconscious mind. It's the place where all the wars have ended and  where there is everything we've ever really wanted - peace, love, wisdom, healing, and bliss. It's a remedy for  all the difficult things of the ordinary world, and that's why so many people are searching for it and hoping to rest their heads there.

How do you get there? Do only certain people have the key? Do you need to be invited? There  are many ways to get there - and you have the key. You  were born with it, and you invite yourself there. There are ways to get there without ingesting anything. You can go very deeply into your own meditations and revelations. There are also catalysts, such as other people, activities that bring you bliss, and special recordings that help take you there.

Candy Decorations Will Add Character to Any Event!

If you have ever held some kind of party you will know that decorating is always one of the most difficult parts. If those regular paper and plastic centerpieces have begun to bore you, you should consider a new twist to brighten up your party - try a candy centerpiece as the decor for your next event. Colorful candy bouquet centerpieces are a great way to add beauty and color to your table, and don't forget that they are also delicious!

Parties are deeply incorporated into modern society to relieve stress and promote happiness. Using candy as the theme is unique, and it ensures your popularity among your guests!

Exceptional Wedding Candy Ideas

Anyone who has ever gone to or been involved in planning a wedding certainly knows that its success can depend on the choice of wedding favors.

If a beach or garden wedding is in your plans, seashell shaped candies would make perfect favors. These hard candies have brown and white stripes, with a fruit filling inside. Use gorgeous chocolate candy bouquets to tempt your guests. These bouquets are made from delectable chocolate candies, and they make perfect wedding favors.

Thrill attendees by gifting them with party favor bags with an assortment of candy. You might mix and match the colors of candies in the bag, and then put them on the tables so that no two candies of the same color are next to each other. To really make your centerpieces something special, you can even get the happy couple's names engraved on the candies; but be aware that might make them appear too special to eat!

Holiday Decorations

During the holiday season, many people use flowers in their decorating. Jars filled with candy in holiday colors are an inexpensive alternative to fancy centerpieces. You may add some "oomph" to the jar by applying matching bows or ribbons within the same color scheme. Your inexpensive centerpiece will be sure to impress your guests with your creative talents, and the candies will provide a sweet little after dinner treat. To create a table that really is the focal point of any gathering, cover the table with a stylish pastel tablecloth and display your finest cutlery.

Prove yourself to be the "host with the most" by giving your guests a party filled with entertainment and good times. Using candy to add color to the tables will show your guests how creative you are. It will be a great conversation piece, and you can bet that your event will certainly be memorable!

Should You Have a Second Child? 10 Tips for Deciding

Deciding whether or not to have a second child can be agonizing. Two
children is the norm. Yet more and more couples are stopping with one.
How can you determine what's best for you?

candyland game

Here are some tips for making one of life's biggest decisions:

CANDYLAND

*Consult your partner. Your spouse's insights may help with
your own thought process. It's also important to understand each other's
concerns. Hearing my husband's fear that another child would stress our
marriage, I kept date night on the agenda after our second baby arrived.

*Don't rush. Having children who are three years or less apart in
age is hard on parents early on. If you've just had your first and aren't
racing the biological clock, take a breather. Some of the happiest
parents have children who are widely spaced.

*Weigh the sibling factor. Providing a sibling for your firstborn is
not a sufficient reason for having another baby. Not all siblings get
along, and singletons do fine. You need to want to raise another child. If
you want a playmate, arrange a playdate.

*Visualize life with two. With one child you can hang on to your
adult life. Two puts you firmly in the kiddie world. Expect dinners at the
pizza restaurant, not the bistro. Prepare to double the sick days, but also
double the fun, especially as your kids grow and play together.

*Visualize life with one. You get lots of time together with an
only child. You're also the default entertainment. Count on enjoying a
close, special relationship, and playing a lot of Candyland.

*Think ahead. Okay, so you want another baby. But do you want
another teenager? Or are you just trying to preserve the baby stage of
parenthood, which passes no matter how many kids you have?

*Consider your resources. The second child can strain you
financially, emotionally and physically. But you'll also grow to meet the
challenges and realize how much you learned the first time around.

*Reframe the question. How would you feel upon learning that
you couldn't have another child? Sad? Relieved? Listen to your first
reaction to this question.

*Make a choice. Decisions are hard, but empowering. If you
can't decide, consult a therapist. Therapy can be especially helpful if you
and your partner disagree on whether or not to have a second baby.
Recognize that stopping with one child is a choice too.

*Revisit your decision. Asked whether I wanted a second when
my first was a baby I answered, "No way!" A year later I'd decided to go
for it. Everything can look different once your little one sleeps through
the night. Rest can make you eager to have another, or determined to
stop with one!

Baptism Invitations - The Basics of Baptism Invitations

The best part about baptism invitations is that they're most informal, colloquial, personalized kinds of cards there are. Baptisms are less formal than christenings and less intense than birthday parties. Infant baptisms are fun, free, important events for Christian denominations all across the world. So, who should be invited? Where should it be hosted? And what should the invitations look like, what should they inform the guest of, and when should the momentous event take place?

invitations for baby shower

As to the first question, it's sufficient to invite very close friends, God parents, and extended family. That last point is contingent on the proximity of relatives to the event, their closeness to the family, their affiliation with the faith, and other circumstantial factors. If they're in the neighborhood and aren't appalled at religious services, it's a must to invite them, although it's probably cheaper to just make phone calls. On the other hand, in-laws are tough to talk to sometimes so it's wise to send out invitations.

INVITATIONS

As to the second question, it should be hosted at your church; in that case, there's really no need to send out invitations because everyone will already be members of the church, and it will occur, most likely, during the Sunday church service. You can completely skip over the invitations and just schedule the event with your pastor.

Finally, as to the third question, the invitations should look personal, informal, and patently child-like. Infant baptisms need not be any more formal than a homemade collage of baby pictures with glitter and stickers pasted around it. That's an analogy, of course, but infant baptisms are the least formal of all popular celebrations. They're much less formal than a Christening and hardly even worth sending out invites for. Everyone at your church will already be there, of course. However, if you're hosting the event elsewhere, it's essential that the clergy, church members, friends, and relatives all receive invites. There's just no reason not to. Afterward, you can all go out and have lunch as a way of celebrating. The invitations should inform people of the following: the baby's name, a photograph of the baby, and the day, date, time, and place of the infant baptism.

Baptism invitations are ultra-fun, and you can make one by hand and scan it into your computer and print multiple color copies. Or, order from the thousands of pre-made designs on dedicated greeting card and special event invitational card websites.

Affordable DIY Wedding Invitations

Creating your wedding invitations on your own is an ideal approach to impart style and personality to your wedding, and also is an innovative technique to save your wedding costs. Do-it-yourself wedding invites range from handwritten cards to those printed on home printers with the help of DIY wedding invitation kits or templates; or sometimes, some prefabricated invitations are bought from a wedding invitation dealer and personal touches are added to them.

invitations for 50th birthday party

Sometimes, brides create wedding invites on their own not to save costs, but to add more details and accessories to their invitations to the maximum possible extent. These DIY invitations will be so much elaborate and intricate and will take much time for their design and creation to the extent of costing much more than the invitations that can be bought from a dealer. Also much stress would be experienced in their making.

INVITATIONS

We don't mean to say that you will have to forego style or sanity for saving cost. There are plenty of exciting, innovative DIY wedding invites which can be created by brides of varying levels of crafting without the need to spend more money or time. Check out these ideas for some unique, personalized DIY invitations which will surely impress your guests.

Printable (fill up blanks) DIY wedding invitations:

Nowadays computers are more high-tech but more user-friendly; so why not use them? You have many options to create your DIY wedding invites on your computer, depending on your computer and design skills. Pre-designed invitations are available from many super stores, craft stores and invitation printers; you can buy them and insert your wedding details using your home printer.

This idea will be wonderful for the brides who are cost-conscious, but not very eager to design the entire wedding invitation. Yet it won't work if you don't have a printer suitable for the job. So before buying the blank DIY invitations, confirm whether your printer can printout in the particular paper type of such invitations. Otherwise you will have to take the costlier option of buying a printer.

Total DIY wedding invitations:

Perhaps you may find 'fill up blanks' to be too easy or you may not get those printable invitations which meet your requirements such as theme, color, etc. You want your invitation to be totally unique. Whatever the reason may be, you can go ahead with total DIY wedding invites to achieve your objective. This will require buying your card stock, creating the design template, cutting the paper and printing the invitations - the whole works!

This idea is great and will work only if you have the necessary materials, tools and skills. If you have to buy everything from scissors to printer, you will have to think again. When you choose this option you should be able to create truly distinctive and beautiful invitations that live up to your expectations in style, theme and personality; otherwise it will be a collapse. So, you should consider the cost and availability of materials and time before embarking on the project.

Wedding Anniversary Party Invitations

Anniversary Party Invitations to Celebrate Your Special Party!

invitations for sweet 16

If you need to find Anniversary Party Invitations for that special event you're throwing for friends, family members, or someone else close to you, take a few things into consideration when making your choices.

INVITATIONS

Anniversary Party Cards: Picking a Theme

When throwing an event, you probably have decided on some type of theme for the event. For example, if you are celebrating a 25th silver anniversary or 50th golden anniversary get together you might choose a color theme of silver or gold, respectively. A similar idea is to match the theme with the traditional wedding gift for that event. Regardless of which theme you choose, anniversary party cards should match that theme so guests will get some hint of what to expect from the event.

Anniversary Party Wedding Invitations: Location

Obviously, you can't start sending out wedding anniversary invitations until you've selected a location for your anniversary wedding party. The good news is choosing a location isn't difficult. There are many options available, including party rooms at restaurants, private homes, botanical gardens or public zoos, hotels, and more. Before choosing a location for your event, make sure you know your budget and the size of your guest list.

Party Invitations: Personalized Cards

The wedding anniversary party invitations are important for the event. You want to choose ones that are unique and that will make an impression on the guests. Simply going to a local card store or discount retailer and choosing the first bulk party anniversary invitations you find isn't a good idea, even if you want to save money.

Instead, you should go online and look for the anniversary parties wedding invitations or anniversary announcements you want. For one, you'll find a much wider selection, such as photo anniversary invitations. Brick and mortar stores are limited in the designs they can carry but that's not the case with online vendors. Additionally, the costs are much lower. Because of the lower overhead, you can purchase high-quality cards at an affordable price online. Plus, you can choose your invitations from the convenience of your home.

Regardless of where you purchase the anniversary party cards, make sure you have them early. It's customary to mail anniversary party invitations at least two weeks before the date of the event to give people plenty of time to make arrangements for attending. Also when planning an anniversary party invite only people who are close to the couple and who they would enjoy having at the affair.

Wedding Anniversary Invitations: Refreshments

One of the other big planning areas you'll need to worry about is refreshments. If you're on a budget, consider keeping refreshments at a minimum. Serve some cake and punch but nothing more. For casual parties, you could have a barbecue or a cookout. Lunchmeat and cheese trays are a nice idea for an early afternoon celebration. If you're planning on having a formal wedding anniversary party, hire caterers to set up a buffet or to serve your guests. When the wedding anniversary party is over, you want all of your guests to be able to look at those invitations and remember the great time they had celebrating a special couple.

How Cool to Golf in Autumn

As summer rolls to a close here on the Grand Strand, golfers are making their preparations to switch game strategy from warm weather play to cool weather play. Sure, some fair-weather players clean their clubs and pack them away until next year, but actually, here in the Carolinas that would be a waste of good playing time. Here, we have two outstanding reasons for playing through fall and winter to the warmer months - weather and price.

candyland castle game

Playing golf in autumn here in the Mid-Atlantic area means that players enjoy all the advantages of having lower temperatures: colorful foliage, wildlife on the move, and (best of all) price specials. Whether they are drawn here by lower accommodations rates, events discounts, or affordable golf tee times, golf groups come in droves during this time. Even so, there are still plenty of rooms for the occasional travelers and weekenders from the surrounding states who enjoy shorter stays.

CANDYLAND

The first day of fall, September 22nd, here on the Grand Strand was a Monday. It came and went with partly cloudy skies, moderate humidity, gentle breezes, and a temperature that started in the morning in the high 60's and never drifted much above 82 along the coast. Of course, the exciting aspect of playing golf in the fall is that no two days are alike; one day all sun, and the next day sharp winds off the ocean demand golfers wear a jacket or wind-breaker. It is conditions like these that have inspired greats such as Arnold Palmer, Pete Dye, and Rees Jones to design courses here along the Strand, using geography and weather as part of their artistry.

Stiff winds, for example, can be 30-40 mph requiring players match it with equal amounts of their own mental stiffness, as well as using special techniques in club selection and shot-making.

Golfers who know our conditions plan for them by warming up their muscles on a cool day, wearing gloves on both hands, plus wearing a hat to keep heat in the body. All of these efforts are at first conscious, then habit, because they are a "must" in order to remain healthy and play golf through the cooler months. Waterproof apparel, lightweight pants and jackets, and layers are also crucial for out-of-doors physical performance. Since a player's environment can range from "balmy" on the first nine to "chilly" on the back nine, wearing something easily removable can mean the difference between sweating unnecessarily for 18 holes and catching cold unnecessarily.

So, prepared with warm-up exercises and the right gear and warm-up exercises, golfers from all over the world set off to find the right golf courses. Some place telephone calls to the courses before arranging their accommodations. However, lower prices are available by doing the reverse. The standard published rates of accommodations and courses during the autumn season can be quite daunting until players realize that golf agents in resort accommodations can help them find even more affordable combinations of courses and tee times. Package deals offered through the resorts in cooperation with golf courses can bring a smile to the face. For example, some courses such as King's North or Tidewater encourage mid-week play with lower prices, and some accommodations such as the Myrtle Beach Seaside Resorts have managers' special rates.

Whether one or twenty in a group, golfers decide which courses to play and call the booking agents, asking for as many price breaks as possible. Sometimes even the golf group "leader" can receive discounts beyond the groups' discounts, just by being a group leader. As the agents then juggle the details to find the best price for the group, golf groups also explore savings on a variety of other trip details: tickets for theatrical performances, concerts, restaurant meals, and rental cars, to name a few. In the fall, not only prices, but also wait times decrease, so in autumn golfers receive benefits for everything from dining tables to tee off.

Autumn golf packages at romantic oceanfront resorts are enjoyable for everyone in the group, whether all are players or not. While one part of the group plays fabulous rounds of golf on exciting coastal, tidewater, and inland courses, non-golfing members of the group can take advantage of the discounted tickets at the theater, sales for pre-holiday shopping, and park events such as those found at Hard Rock Park and Brookgreen Gardens. So golfers and non-golfers, let two little words, "weather" and "price," persuade you to spend a week or two on the Grand Strand. We treat you right here!
