Today my best friend and I are going to lunch. She called me and said that she had some big news and wanted to talk with me about it. I became excited just thinking about what it could possibly be. My mind started to race through different scenarios, like a job promotion, that would be good, or maybe a job transfer, that would not be good. Maybe she is buying her dream house, now that would be fantastic. I stopped wondering and decided to just wait and hear what she had to say.
Forty minutes later, at the corner bistro, we were sharing hugs, tears and muffled screams when she stretched her left hand forward showing me that beautiful ring. Before I could even get all the proposal details, she told me she was going to need my help with the wedding invitations. Of course I said yes, but that was before she told me that we would be making them ourselves. I thought back to the card making I had done in the past for birthdays and baby showers, but never wedding invitations. Wow what an honor I thought. I made a mental note to research on card making and wedding invitations ASAP!
INVITATIONS
I headed for my computer as soon as I got home, because my best friend told me they wanted to get married in four months so she needed us to start immediately. After I logged on to my computer, I clicked on the card making icon on my screen. While that program loaded I also logged on to the web and searched for information on making your own professional looking wedding invitations. Within seconds I had choices like, 'Elegance at a fraction of the cost' and 'Invitations that won't break your bank.' As I switched back to my card making program there was a knock on my door. My best friend walked in with her arms full. There were color swatches, sample wedding invitations, a card making software program paper samples and still more.
As we sorted though all things my best friend brought to the house, the last thing she handed to me was a small photo album. She had this huge smile on her face. She said this is my dress. My invitations should make them want to see me in this!
It was a good thing I did not have any plans. This looks like it is going to take a while.
